A native Spanish teacher just for you
Hi, my name is Heidy. I was born in 1995 in a small town of Granada province called Castilléjar, south-east of Spain.
I was a very sensitive little girl who loved animals and always used to say that wanted to become a vet.
I have always had a great interest for languages as well. English and French were two of my favourite subjects in school.
When I finished highschool in 2013 I finally decided to study psychology in university.
I wanted to be able to help people. Everyone that knew me well thought that this was a profession that would really suit me because of my personality.
I graduated in 2017 as a psychologist and I had learned a lot about human behaviour and dynamics.
After spending so many years of my life studying, I decided that I wanted to travel and improve my English so I moved to the UK the same year.
I lived in a small town of Lincolnshire called Louth, northeast of England. There I worked as a waitress in a tapas restaurant and although it was not easy at first, when I moved back to Spain almost 2 years later, I was fluent in English and I had gotten a C1 level certificate.
Apart from working as a waitress, I also started teaching Spanish while I was in Louth.
I put some groups together and I taught 2 or 3 times a week for some months. At that point I discovered that I loved teaching and that I was good at it. I realised how teaching my mother tongue would also help me learn more about other languages, the differences, the similarities… and I found that fascinating.
